Can psychotherapy help me?
Through the slow and careful process of talking to a trained listener, psychotherapy can help with a broad range of life’s difficulties. This might mean depression and anxiety, bereavement, loss of direction in life, or a sense of hopelessness or worthlessness. It can also help navigate and make sense of difficult relationships, family problems or breakdown, negotiating retirement, the menopause or post-natal depression.
Other difficulties psychotherapy can help with include panic attacks, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, phobias, flashbacks, paranoia and the hearing of voices, trauma, sexual abuse or assault, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), addiction, borderline personality disorder (BPD) and bi-polar disorder.
This might sound like a catch-all list, and it’s true there are no magic bullets, but in my extensive experience, finding the right person to talk to can help to alleviate all kinds of mental and emotional anguish and suffering
